This class, per its name, draws on more current dance themes while still maintaining a worshipful and God honoring posture. The Contemporary style breaks away from the structure of traditional ballet and encourages the dancer to express and share the emotions that the music and dance inspire. This is a class for students age 9 and up. No previous dance training is required but certainly helpful. 

Classes begin on January 13th. We offer 16 classes throughout the  semester plus a dress rehearsal and recital. Dates TBD.

Classes are held Monday evenings from 5:15-6:15pm.

The interpretive class works together to tell a story through dance using music choice, a wide variety of dance styles and techniques, as well as acting or pantomime. This is a class for students age 7 and up. No previous dance training is required but certainly helpful.

Worship Dance is a lyrical style of dance that incorporates traditional ballet techniques with other more interpretive movements. Our Worship Dance classes seek to teach students how to worship God through the art of dance in a fun and challenging environment. All dances are set to Christian music and aim to be outward expressions of genuine worship that reflect God’s character and communicate the heart of the Gospel.

At In His Steps Williamsburg we offer 6 different classes of worship dance classes beginning at age 4 all the way through highschool. You will be assigned to a class appropriate to your age and skill level by the site director upon receipt of registration.
